October is breast cancer awareness month, an annual campaign to educate people about breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most prevalent form of cancer in women. It can occur at any age but, it is most common in women above the age of 40 years. In India, Breast Cancer accounts for 25% to 31% of all cancers in women.
Students and faculty of Samarpan Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences, Lucknow have also joined this campaign. In the month of October, on every Friday and Tuesday, students conducted awareness programmes in RSD Hospital and nearby community health centers. Students from the Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OBG) also attended webinars to keep them updated with the latest findings.
