Place of Visit: Community Health Centre (CHC) – Chinhat
Purpose: To understand the functioning of CHC-level health services and observe various departments as part of community health nursing.
Brief Report
B.Sc Nursing 5th semester students visited CHC Chinhat as part of their academic field visit. The main objective was to observe the organization, functioning, and services provided at the CHC.
During the visit, students observed the OPD services, patient registration, consultation process, and referral system. The labor room and maternal health services (ANC/PNC) were functioning, and the staff demonstrated essential equipment and procedures. The immunization room was well-maintained, and vaccines were stored properly in the ILR/DF. Students also visited the laboratory, where routine diagnostic tests were explained by the lab technician.
The pharmacy had essential medicines available, and the staff described the drug distribution process. Students also observed NCD clinic, family planning services, and basic emergency care facilities.
The staff interacted with the students and explained various national health programs running at the CHC. The overall environment was clean, and proper biomedical waste management was followed.
