An Inspiring Journey in the Philippines: Advancing Innovation and Justice.
I recently had the great privilege of participating in the 5th Forensic Science and Criminal Justice International Lecture Series organized by Holy Angel University, Philippines. This year’s theme, “Innovatio et Iustitia” (Innovation and Justice), beautifully emphasized the need to combine ethical values with technological progress to strengthen multidisciplinary practices in forensic science.
I was deeply honored to serve as a Resource Speaker, presenting on the topic “Caring for Survivors, Strengthening Evidence: The Role of Forensic Nursing in Sexual Assault Investigators.” It was a meaningful opportunity to share my research insights and practical experiences from India with an outstanding international audience of scholars, practitioners, and professionals committed to justice and survivor-centered care.
I feel truly grateful for the warm hospitality extended by the organizers. My sincere thanks to Dean Dr. Nino M. Kabiling, RCRIM, and Dr. Ranjeet K. Singh for this wonderful opportunity. Congratulations to the entire organizing team for the grand success of the lecture series, which welcomed more than 1500 registrations, reflecting the growing global interest in advancing forensic science and criminal justice.
Beyond the enriching academic discussions, the experience became even more memorable as I reconnected with many wonderful souls and built new professional friendships with passionate individuals working tirelessly in the field of forensic science and criminal justice.
As I return home, I carry with me not only beautiful memories from this enriching journey but also a deep sense of gratitude and fulfillment. The experience has filled me with renewed motivation, greater enthusiasm, and fresh inspiration to continue contributing to the growth and advancement of forensic science and forensic nursing. Interacting with dedicated professionals, exchanging ideas, and witnessing the collective passion for justice has further strengthened my commitment to this important field.
This journey has also reminded me of the power of global collaboration in addressing complex challenges within criminal justice systems. I look forward to building meaningful partnerships, sharing knowledge, and engaging in future collaborations with colleagues across the world. Together, through the integration of science, compassion, ethical practice, and innovation, we can continue to strengthen justice systems and ensure better support and dignity for survivors.
