A need-based academic seminar on the theme “Invisible Boundaries, Shared Threats: Zoonotic Diseases Beyond Species Barriers” was successfully organized on 12 January 2026 at the Nirmal Auditorium under the aegis of Samarpan Group of Institutions, (SINPS & SCP), Lucknow.The seminar aimed to create awareness among healthcare professionals and students about emerging and re-emerging zoonotic diseases and their implications for global health.
The programme commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by the dignitaries. This was followed by a Welcome Address by Dr. Dipti Shukla, Principal, SINPS, who highlighted the importance of early detection, prevention, and the crucial role of nurses in controlling and preventing zoonotic diseases. Thereafter, Prof. Dr. R. S. Dubey, Chairman, Samarpan Group, addressed the gathering and bestowed his blessings, emphasizing interdisciplinary learning, research-oriented education, and social responsibility in healthcare.
The event was graced by eminent dignitaries: Dr. Rashmi P. John, Principal, KGMU College of Nursing, as the Chief Guest; Dr. David Sartha Kala Rani, Nursing Superintendent, Apollo Medics Super Speciality Hospital, as the Guest of Honour; Dr. Umesh Pandey, Senior Administrative Officer, as the Special Guest; and Mr. Manish Mishra, Manager, Samarpan Hospital.
The academic sessions featured expert lectures by Dr. Rajneesh Chandra, Prof. Dr. Fareya Haider, and Prof. Dr. Gomthi Munusamy. The speakers provided comprehensive insights into zoonotic diseases, modes of transmission, preventive strategies, and the significance of the One Health approach in addressing health challenges that transcend species barriers.
Around 480 delegates, including faculty members, healthcare professionals, and students, actively participated in the seminar. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Neeraj Verma, Principal, SCP. The enthusiastic participation and interactive discussions made the seminar highly informative and successful.
