WORLD AIDS DAY
Date: 1st December 2025
Venue: Samarpan Institute Nirmal auditorium & Community Area
Theme: “Overcoming Disruption: Transforming the AIDS Response”
Introduction
Samarpan Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences, Lucknow, observed World AIDS Day on 1st December 2025 with great enthusiasm and awareness spirit. The program aimed to spread knowledge about HIV/AIDS, reduce stigma, encourage prevention practices, and motivate students to participate in community health promotion activities.
Objectives
To create awareness about HIV/AIDS transmission, prevention, and management.
To encourage students to participate in public health education.
To promote a supportive and stigma-free environment for people living with HIV/AIDS.
Activities Conducted
1. Awareness Rally
An awareness rally was organized in the nearby community. Students and faculty members participated holding placards and banners displaying messages on HIV prevention, safe practices, and stigma reduction. Slogans were raised to engage the community and spread the message of awareness and support.
2. Poster Presentation by Students
Students prepared creative and informative posters on various aspects of HIV/AIDS including causes, symptoms, modes of transmission, prevention strategies, myths vs facts, ART therapy, and stigma reduction. The posters were displayed on Nirmal auditorium, and faculty evaluated them based on creativity, accuracy, and presentation.
3. Skit Presented by Students
A short skit was performed by students to highlight misconceptions about HIV/AIDS and to promote acceptance and empathy toward affected individuals. The skit effectively showcased real-life situations and emphasized the importance of awareness, compassion, and prevention.
4. Webinar Session by Guest Speaker
A webinar was conducted with an expert speaker who discussed the theme “Overcoming Disruption: Transforming the AIDS Response.” The session covered updated information on global HIV trends, preventive measures, counselling techniques, and the role of healthcare professionals in strengthening the AIDS response. Students actively participated by asking questions and sharing views.
Outcome of the Program
The World AIDS Day program significantly enhanced students’ knowledge and helped them develop communication and community outreach skills. The rally and poster presentation created awareness among the community, while the skit and webinar strengthened professional understanding and empathy among students.
