Theme: “Building a Safer Future with Trauma Care”
Purpose:
The World Trauma Day was observed to create awareness among students and the community about the importance of prompt trauma care, first aid management, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in saving lives. The event aimed to promote knowledge, practical skills, and preventive measures to reduce trauma-related morbidity and mortality.
Activities Conducted:
Inaugural Session:
The program began with a welcome speech highlighting the significance of the theme “Building a Safer Future with Trauma Care.” The faculty members and students were encouraged to actively participate in all events to enhance their understanding of trauma management.
PowerPoint Presentation (PPT):
A detailed PPT presentation was delivered by the nursing students, covering topics such as:
Introduction to trauma and its types
Golden hour importance in trauma care
First aid measures for common injuries
Role of nurses and healthcare providers in trauma management
The presentation emphasized early response and effective trauma care strategies.
Skit on CPR:
Students presented an educational skit demonstrating Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures. The act highlighted the importance of immediate CPR in cardiac arrest cases and demonstrated step-by-step techniques following the ABC (Airway, Breathing, Circulation) approach.
Skit on First Aid Management:
Another informative skit was performed focusing on first aid in trauma situations, such as fractures, bleeding, and head injuries. The skit encouraged the audience to stay calm, act quickly, and use correct first aid techniques until professional help arrives.
Poster Presentation:
Students showcased creative posters displaying key messages on trauma prevention, road safety, first aid tips, and the importance of emergency response. The posters reflected the theme and spread awareness effectively.
Discussion:
The event encouraged active participation and knowledge sharing among students. Faculty members appreciated the efforts and creativity shown in the presentations and skits. Students gained practical insights into trauma care, which will be beneficial in clinical practice and emergency situations.
